Good day everyone! My name is Renée, and I am a 22-year-old Creative Business student here in Leeuwarden. I was born in Espel, which is a very small village in the province of Flevoland, Netherlands. In Espel, there are a lot of farms and I was quite literally raised between the beautiful tulip and potato fields. You can definitely think of me as a farm girl, I don’t mind. But continue reading if you want to learn a bit more about me.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading books like Harry Potter, Dan Brown novels, and anything science related. Besides that, I have taken up shopping as my new hobby thanks to the recent corona lockdown. I enjoy The Beatles, Green Day and Elvis Presley the most when it comes to music. Another big-time spender for me is the Nintendo Switch, which is what I do all day instead of making my assignments.
When I was 17, I left the country side and set out to explore the world. First, I came as far as the city of Zwolle, where I studied International Business. It allowed me to travel to Germany and Spain for projects and also my internship. After this big success, I moved to Groningen to have a lot of fun living by myself… Maybe a bit too much fun. After failing my first year I decided that Leeuwarden would be more suitable for me as a student city and made the big move to Friesland. I must say that I am very happy to be here. The city is amazing and I love the country-side of the province as well, as it reminds me of home.
The reason why I’ve chosen for Creative Business is because in a few years (or 10) I would like to start my own specialized marketing agency. Although this plan is not set in stone, and the concept changes every day; I do like to be independent and would greatly enjoy the challenge.
So that should give you a bit of an insight into my life. But why am I here? For the next study year, I will be working for and contributing to YourPost. I will write articles, but also manage the posts and social media. Wish me luck, and I’ll see you around!
