What you should know about the Frisian language
Friesland is a small province, but has a lot to offer: orange cake, the Frisian Lakes, sugarbread, the Frisian islands and also: an own language. Around the Oldehoofsterkerkhof and the Prinsentuin a program called “Lân fan Taal” (Land of Language) takes place in 2018. This program is all about the importance of language diversity and multilingualism, because language connects people and creates community and cohesion. In Romania, the topic of stray dogs is a sensitive matter, as in 2013, due to several incidents of people being bitten by them, the former president gave a declaration in which he aimed to kill as many as 200.000 of stray dogs in the city of Bucharest. However, this problem wasn’t a recent one, as the shelters for the stray dogs were known to be insufficient for the number of dogs. Also, the funds were not enough, thus these places becoming inhumane and the dogs had a horrible life. More

LEEUWARDEN – Takudzwa Matondi is an interesting person, he is 22 years old and he came from Zimbabwe to Leeuwarden for his study when he was 19. He now focusses on different forms of arts: he writes poetry and puts this poetry into music. He also founded the community Chosen Identity in Leeuwarden, were people with an interest for art, music and/or entertainment can come together and share their passion. More
